Favorite restaurants? Can you recommend an optician.
Got any suggestions on where to eat? I am near this Dine in the Dark place that looks interesting, any experiences?
Also, my prescription sunglasses had a screw break. Anybody know a place that can fix it? When I was in Bangkok a few days ago the only place that said they could fix it said it would be a couple of days to repair.

I've heard of it, never been. Check it out and let us know!rexdart wrote:Got any suggestions on where to eat? I am near this Dine in the Dark place that looks interesting, any experiences?
King Optics (near Sorya Shopping Center) is good, and also Modern Optics and even Grand Optics.
If you're staying near Dine in the Dark, all these places are real close to you. Just walk towards Norodom I street *154*, cross over and you'll hit at least 2 of them.
Also, might want to get a price quote from a couple. They all run random specials at different times.
A broken screw sounds simple enough.

Rexdart is in such need of an optician that he can't find the correct place to post this.

Your best cheap fix for the glasses would be one of the little watch-repair stalls you see on the kerbs near markets.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?

I trashed a pair of specs by falling asleep on them after a few drinks.
Grand Optics sorted them out for me, no charge.

I ended up going to Grand Optics and the grand total was $1. My glasses seem quite well and they were very necessary as they were my prescription sunglasses.
Dining in the Dark is an amazing experience. You choose between western, Khmer or vegetarian food. The exact dishes are a surprise. You are then led to the dining room by a blind waiter, or you "guide" as they call them. The guides are very sweet with super Anglised names like Honey and Babyman. The room itself is pitch black. And there is no hope of cheating by using your phone to see as all light emitting devices are confiscated.
The most important bit, the food is well worth looking forward to. It is a three course meal with appetizer, main and dessert. The fun part is that the meal will most certainly devolve into eating with your hands sine you have no idea if there is anything on your fork.
All meals are $18 per. At the end, you are taken downstairs and shown photos of what you ate. A fun night out!
