Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Robbery Victim Wrote His Experience on His Facebook

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

For the last couple days, there were so many robberies and snatchings happened all over in Phnom Penh. Here is what a facebook user wrote on his account about this robbery experience.

I was sitting alone and checking my phone near Brown Café at Pencil market as the café closed and no come to pick me up. Then around 9:45 pm there were Dream motorbikes came toward me. I was scared and my hands were shaking. I got up and then, I unlocked my phone and wrote the word HELP, however my phone was run out of money, so my massage couldn’t deliver. Then, I sent via Line as my internet was working. After that they (people on the motorbike) came to me and hit me with the gun. They asked me to sit down and pointed the gun at me and said if you don’t want to die, give me all everything you have. Then, a tuk tuk drive and a foreigner who was sitting on the tuk tuk saw it. The tuk tuk driver stopped and the foreigner got out of the tuk tuk and ran toward me to them in which scared them to run away.

#Kudos to the foreigner and Tuk Tuk driver.
