I agree, they are wonderful people, that's why they left for Vietnam without telling anyone.

And anyway, is murder really that bad?

He hasn't been tried for murder yet (or fleeing), but just the weapons charges.

Wow, looks like they got 4 people for possessing the guns.

That's quite a round-up.

Seems that stories like they typically end up with everyone denying it, and all but one person get off, as someone had to know about them and has the weakest defense.

They haven't even touched on the major charges yet. The sentences for possession of firearms were quite severe considering that it's probably normal enough for a guy of that stature to have a few weapons around. I'm imagining this case just getting worse and worse for the defendant until he finally has a 279 year sentence like that police guy. Or else he'll be out in a couple of weeks. I hope his mom stays in jail though, on the TV she was really nasty.

Would this be the mother that was released from jail because "she didn't like it"?

Yup, the same cow that said accusing her son was like accusing the KIng.

Tycoon’s mother sees new charge over ‘gift’

The mother of tycoon Thong Sarath, a former general at the Ministry of Defence accused of murdering fellow tycoon Ung Meng Cheu, has been charged with allegedly giving a gift to a court official to secure her release from prison in February.

Keo Sary, 57, was questioned yesterday morning on charges of active trading in influence under Article 606 of the Criminal Code, which deals with gifts to public officials.

In December, Sary and her husband, Thong Chamroeun, were sentenced to two years in prison for possessing unlicensed weapons, while Sarath was jailed for 30 months in June on the same charge.

Sarath has yet to stand trial for his alleged role as the mastermind of the 2014 public slaying of Meng Cheu.

Haha, giving gifts only works when the other party isn't as influential as you are.
