Renminbi deposits

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Renminbi deposits

Post by Duncan »

I have ended up with a SMALL amount of Australian dollars under my mattress and the lump is giving me a backache, [ and also a headache when I have a girl in my apartment ]. I am reluctant to change it into USA dollars at this very moment because of the exchange rate, but that may change in the future when the good old usa admits it is bankrupt and cannot pay its bills and everyone switches over to the Renminbi as the currency to trade in.

Now, which banks can I start an account with, that will hold money in the Chinese Renminbi , or alternatively the Australian dollar.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

It does not pay to dick around with a small amount of money. The fees hassles and monkeyshines will eat up bo coo time and money. Just go to a money changer and convert to Yuan or any other currency you want. Hold it in cash.

I'm already holding it in cash [ A$ ] If I converted it to Yuan cash , the lump under my mattress would be twice as high. I need to deposit it in a bank account,
but not USA $, or riel.
