Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

If I have to click through 37 pages of back and forth circle jerk nonsense between the same 3 or 4 posters with their lame inside repetitive jokes then I will lose interest. And while 37 pages of posts per topic may be great for site statistics early on, long term that is certain death to the forum. Just sayin'. How to reign that in without over moderation and deleting posts is the big problem any forum moderator faces.
I think Soi Dog has hit the nail on the head. There needs to be a balance, I enjoy both sides, but can see how one might annoy someone else, the best solution might be just moving it here.
Yep....move the silly repetitive slag fests and inside jokes to this asinine section and then we can all avoid those types of threads if we chose. Fair call.
But you have to be aware that at times inside jokes will happen in context of a non joke thread.

You only think that because they're very good at censoring.

If you don't see it, it means they've done it without transparency.

Yesterday was a good example.

Calling Mr 8:

They allowed their sponsor to post a "I'm looking for someone who owes me money!" thread, then deleted Mr 8's very thorough response, LoL.

How is that not censorship?

Again, you wouldn't see that if you weren't paying close attention. That's why in your opinion 440 "does not censor content that much."

They must have only "hidden" the post, because it magically reappeared several hours later.

So, they allow their advertisers to post "so-and-so owes me money" and when the person steps forward to say "hey look, I don't owe him anything" they censor that. How is that ok? It was up there long enough for myself and others to see it, then got deleted. For whatever reason it was put back on there, I'm assuming it's because they know anyone who saw that would yell CENSORSHIP!

Also, it wasn't a bad response at all that required censorship, I just think it's the double standard they will need to try very hard to shake.

I personally think they should explain why they did that, but that's just me, and one of the reasons we have our own site now and do things differently on CEO.

I would love to go to the "other" site, view it myself and then give you all an honest opinion, oh but sorry I forgot they have already banned me for being honest….

The first paragraph contains critisism on K440, and even on one particular person over there, although the word 'in' in that sentence is missing.
I think that's the reason for the (temporary) disappearance. Ah, well, there's K440 for ya. Pathetic.

(in the draft-mode one can include a picture: that particular text is now in Chinese! )

The reply post by "8" is there. And people are actually leaning with his defense and calling out the OP.

Exactly as I said. It went "missing" for several hours, so when you go look it at now, people like Rain Dog can't see that there was any censorship going on....

I was just pointing out that just because somebody doesn't notice deletions, they happen over there all the time.

It was a response to Rain Dog's fair observation. I was just pointing out it was an inaccurate observation.

That's all.
