Language gurus, is there an equivalent English name for this? Our tutor tells us is a cooking vegetable, is it a guord?

I have one hanging from my rearview mirror that I probably paid too much for from a roadside vendor. Another hanging in my house, bought at the same time, that I use for portable rice wine.... not because I need it, but because sometimes stupid touristy shit is just fun.
