Cambodia News (Kandal): Kandal Steung police collaborated with criminal police in the arrest of a 17-year-old boy, Phon Korn, for stealing money and phones from the home of a military officer, in Kandal Stueng district, Kandal. The victim was identified as Chek Davuth, a 33 year old man.

The victim lost two phones (iPhone 6 plus, and iPhone 6) money for 280 USD and 300,000 riels, an ID card, and other cards.

On August 27, 2020, at 5 pm, the officer and his family gathered together for a party at the victim's grandmother's house. After that, they went to Takeo, leaving the grandma and his mother to stay home.
Shortly before midnight, the suspect and his friend named Chea Chantrea stopped at the house and asked the victim's grandma to stay at her home. So then, the victim's mother let them stay, but she called the victim to return home as soon as possible.
However, by midnight, the suspects were gone, and the victim just arrived home. Then, he realized that he had lost two phones and a wallet that he kept under the motorbike seat, which had US$280 and 300,000 riels.

On September 5, 2020, the suspect went to Svay Chek police station for the confession. Then, the police sent him to Kandal Steung police for case preparation.
[There is no more information about tracking him down, but it seems probable that the thief was known to the family of the victim, or the grandma would not have let him stay in the house in the first place.]
