Young Woman Meeting "Facebook Friend" is Raped and Robbed

Cambodia News(Phnom Penh) On November 29, 2021, the specialized police force of Kambol District Police arrested a suspect in connection with a rape of a woman and theft. Police said that prior to the incident, the victim befriended the suspect on Facebook and made an appointment to visit Koh Pich to have a drink with him on the night of 26 November. After which, the suspect did not take the victim directly home, but stopped off in a quiet field, where he raped her and stole the victim's phone.

Upon receiving the complaint of the victim, Colonel Hang Mony, Kampol District Police Inspector, order for the investigation which led to the arrest of the 24 year old suspect, Pheng Pheakdey, alias Nixin.
The Kambol District Police are have prepared a case file and sent the suspect to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal proceedings.

Odd way to deal with a rape victim. Not sure she has to be shown off to the entire country like that..

They must compel victims to pose for these pointless pictures. As for a rape victim being even asked to pose getting her phone back is obscene.
