Yingluck's Passport
Journalists from the Hong Kong newspaper, the South China Morning Post, say they have proof that Yingluck Shinawatra possesses a Cambodian passport.
Former Thailand prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra does have a Cambodian passport, and may have used it to flee in 2017
News adds weight to theory politician escaped over border while supposedly under 24-hour military surveillance
Yingluck used the travel document to set up a company in Hong Kong last year

Thailand’s former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra is a Cambodian passport holder, the South China Morning Post has learned, adding weight to the theory she fled her country in 2017 via Cambodia, despite strenuous denials by Phnom Penh.
Corporate filings in Hong Kong revealed Yingluck, 51, had used a Cambodian passport to register as the sole director of P.T. Corporation Company, a firm incorporated in the city on August 24 last year, almost a year to the day after she went into self-imposed exile ahead of a sentence for criminal negligence.
The filings also contradict the claims by the Cambodian government that it had not issued any travel papers to her when she left her country under mysterious circumstances, while allegedly being under the 24-hour surveillance of the military government. Yingluck had been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for mishandling rice subsidies, charges she rejected as political persecution.
The Hong Kong company’s incorporation is among a set of the first publicly available documents revealing her business dealings after avoiding the limelight since fleeing Thailand.

Re: Yingluck's Passport
On the other hand, Cambodian authorities firmly deny issuing the ex-Thai PM with a passport. Is this a cover-up, or is it a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing, as often happens in this country ?

Government officials on Thursday denied claims that a Cambodian passport was issued to former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who reportedly used it to register a company in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong-based English language South China Morning Post (SCMP) on Wednesday reported Hong Kong media as suggesting Yingluck may have used a Cambodian passport when fleeing Thailand in August 2017.
Senior officials in the Thai military government claim Yingluck jumped bail and left the country via Cambodia, a claim Phnom Penh denies.

Re: Yingluck's Passport
I wonder how much she paid the man at the top of the passport office to get her a passport? This would not have been handled by anyone lower. Very embarrassing for Thai-Cambodia relations for sure. I see a retirement or sideways move to another government agency should this not go away.

Strangely enough I see a promotion , as the higher up you are the less likelihood of being moved sideways.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Cambodia denies having issued passport to former Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra

BANGKOK (THE NATION/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Cambodia denies claims that it issued a passport to former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, who reportedly used it to register a company in Hong Kong, according to the Phnom Penh Post on Thursday (Jan 10).
In August 2018, Yingluck used a Cambodian passport to register as the sole director of PT Corporation, a company incorporated in Hong Kong, the South China Morning Post reported on Wednesday (Jan 9). It cited corporate filings in the Hong Kong Companies Registry.
Mr Mao Chandara, the director general of the identification department at Cambodia's Interior Ministry, said they had not issued a passport to Yingluck.
"We don't know whether it (the passport) is fake or not," he told the Phnom Penh Post.
The ex-PM was suspected of using a foreign travel document when she left Thailand under mysterious circumstances a few days before the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders was scheduled to read its verdict in a case against her.

Cambodia Spokesman Denies Country Gave Passport to Exiled Former Thai PM Yingluck
January 11, 2019
A spokesman for the HE government on Thursday denied reports that fugitive former Thai premier Yingluck Shinawatra had been given a Cambodian passport, but a critic of the Cambodian strongman said it couldn’t be ruled out in view of his ties to Yingluck’s billionaire brother.
Cambodian Council of Ministers spokesman Phay Siphan said that Yingluck’s name does not appear on the list of registered passports kept by the country’s the ministry of interior and that the HE government was not involved in granting a password to Yingluck.
“The ministry of interior doesn’t recognize the passport as reported in the media,” he said. He declined to comment further on the case.
