Would-be Bag Snatcher Gets a Beating by Phnom Penh Locals

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On February 27, 2019, at 12 pm, a 20-year-old thief, Seng Sreyha, was detained and beaten by angry locals after attempting to snatch a bag from a woman on Preah Monivong street, Khan Don Penh, Phnom Penh.

Before the incident, the victim was riding her motorbike on Preah Monivong St, when suddenly two suspects drove up on a motorbike and tried to snatch a bag from the victim, but they were unable to get the bag and their motorbike fell over.

The victim screamed loudly for help, bringing local people running to help her by detaining one of the suspects and beating him up with a few kicks for good measure. When the police arrived on the scene the vigilantes handed over their bloody captive. The other suspect made his escape and left the motorbike at the scene.

After questioning the suspect, the police are preparing the case following the legal procedure.
