Worker crushed by elevator, while on the phone

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

A construction worker died in an accident Sunday after he was crushed by an elevator on a condominium construction site in Phnom Penh’s in Chom Chao 1 commune. The accident took place Sunday morning at about 9.30am at a construction site located in Kork Chambak village.

Sok Vannak, a Chom Chao 1 commune police officer, identified the victim as Nguon So, a 54-year-old construction worker from Takeo province working for Spring Axis construction company on the Greater Phnom Penh condo.

Mr Vannak said that on the day of the accident, Mr So entered a prohibited area while he was on his phone with his family. The victim did not realise an elevator was falling from the tenth floor.

My ex-wife's new boyfriend is an elevator repair man for an apartment complex.
I hate to say this news article gives me cause for hope but maybe he'll be crushed one day.

Seems like a huge step down doesn't it - going from a highly educated international school teacher to a fucking elevator repair man? He's basically a glorified handy man.

So her life is full of up's and downs. Sounds like you want her boyfriend serious harm so she will return to you. Why not congratulate him, buy him a beer, thank him for setting you free .
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Building site elevators or Ali Mac's are installed by riggers. Better pay than teaching, outdoors, work 7 to 3 and have weekends off with no marking at night..... I'd say that was a good career move.

Like I said, he repairs the two elevators in an apartment complex - when he isn't shoveling snow or what not. He doesn't install shit.

I don't want her back. I dumped her and slut-shamed her to all the neighbors in the process.
I just don't want her to be happy and she seems really happy with this guy.

At least she's found a man that's moving up in life.
