Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: Two suspects on a motorcycle snatched a backpack from two women on a motorbike and escaped, leaving only a bag strap, at 5 am on March 13, 2022 on the Russian Federation Road in front of Pochentong Airport, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.
According to the source, before the incident, the two victims were riding a black Honda Dream motorcycle with license plate Kampong Cham 1X-4482, traveling along the Russian Federation Road from east to west, when two suspects suddenly rode up behind them on a motorbike. The thieves pulled the backpack from the woman at the back, cutting the strap; this made the victim fall down and injure herself, while the suspects escaped.


After the incident, the victim had to file a complaint at the police station to urge the authorities to clamp down on insecurity in the area. Local people say that the stretch of Russian Federation Road near the airport has been a favorite area for bag snatch gangs for some years, and it is still a dangerous crime spot, especially for women .
