Woman Gets Bag Stolen After Car Crash
Phnom Penh: At 10:10 pm on October 16, 2019, a minor motor vehicle collision occurred in front of the market on Street 182, Sangkat Teuk Laak 3, Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.
An unknown woman, driving a red Mazada2 car bearing the Phnom Penh license plate 2AW-1171, backed into a tuktuk when she was leaving the market. The woman said that she got out of her car to assess the damage and to negociate with the tuktuk driver over a compensation payment.
She said that she was upset by the accident, and had left her handbag sitting on the passenger seat in the car. When she went to retrieve her purse, she saw that someone had taken it while she was talking to the tuktuk driver. The woman lost over $200 and some riel in cash as well as her iphone and credit card.
The victim did not file a complaint with police.

you have to be reversing at some speed to do that damage, and at the market !, suggest she is just another shit deadly driver that will end up seriously hurting or killing someone. No sympathy here, find it quite amusing.

Re: Woman Gets Bag Stolen After Car Crash
Do the shiny new cars with pre collision systems (aka, lane departure warning), proximity warning when too close to another vehicle or person, auto braking at a preset safe distance, backup warning, etc..
Has anyone driven cars with them in Phnom Penh and Cambodia in general, and do they actually work well over there?

Ahhhhh - its the old "place a tuk tuk behind reversing vehicle and then nick the bag" scam
Very similar to the one where you stop to help someone, and then the sneaky bastards nick your moto and drive off.
I know this is a funny vid but it does happen here in the KoW

That's an interesting take on the car tuktuk accident though. The thief got $200 from her bag. There's no photo of the damaged tuktuk, so hard to say if it was a set-up or not.
