PHNOM PENH: Police arrested a woman in a crackdown on illegal gambling on National Road 1 in Boeung Village on September 29, Chhouk Commune. The suspected woman Yim Chipp, a 49-year-old gambler, lives at home 117, Street 80, 23, Sangkat Srah Chak, Khan Daun Penh.
Money and a number of pieces of gold jewellery were seized.

Takeo province: In yet another police crackdown on local gambling, Takeo province's military police detained 5 people, four women and one man, at 16:10 on October 07, 2017 in Kampong Cham Village, Smoung Commune, Traing District, Takeo Province.

In this case, the authorities seized the exhibits, including 21 books, eight pens, two water bottles, 02 bottles, three machines, three handbands, 07 handbags, 3houses, four mobile phones, riel currency, 2,451,900 riel, US $ 165. It is not specified what type of gambling is involved; however all gambling is illegal for Cambodian nationals.

The crackdown on small gambling outfits continues. On the afternoon of 13 October 2017, the Battambang police brigade raided the village of O'Tapup, Battambang province and arrested two women and a man for running a lottery.

The three gamblers were taken down to the police station where they were educated before being released. It is not mentioned if any money or lottery tickets were confiscated.
