Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

It's win a prize time again, featuring Nigerian scam artists

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

13 December 2017
TAKHMAO - Two Nigerian men and a Cambodian woman were arrested for fraud when police raided a rented house in Kandal province’s Takhmao city.

They were arrested following a complaint from Moch Channary, 24, who fell victim to one of their scams. On December 7, Ms Channary received a phone call telling her she won the grand prize from a UK-based company. The prize was to be laptops, iPhones and jewellery for a total worth of $50,000.
The victim was told that in order to receive her prize she needed to send $1,000 through True Money, an e-payment service provider. However, a day after she wired the $1,000, the suspects called her back and asked for $2,000 more. She became suspicious over this request for more money and contacted the police, who sprung a trap for the culprits.

Police are protecting the identity of the suspects while searching for possible accomplices.

Why is the female Cambodian accomplice always fat?

What have Nigerian criminals got against slim Khmer women?

If there was another famine, would people such as this fuck off back to Nigeria?

I've been in Takhmau for four and a half years and have seen big changes over that time. I was right when I predicted the PP city would expand southwards and with the vast amount of vacant land in the area Takhmau will grow even more. The big disadvantage is the 12 km from center to center is clogged with traffic, especially during peak times. The new river transport being set up will be great for those not wanting to use a moto/car.
I can see the day when HE gives the OK for a new International airport to be built south of Takhmau [[ not far from his home ] and a rail-line to Pechentong airport.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Yeah but what about the city itself?
