Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Kampot: At 12:24 am on July 26, 2019, there was a traffic accident between a car and a motorbike on National Road 3 at the point of Prek Kampong Bay bridge (new bridge) in North Kampong Bay village In Kampong Kong district, Kampot province. The car driver drove off without stopping, leaving the injured man bleeding on the side of the road.

The injured motorcyclist is reported to be a 22-year-old French male tourist by the name of Timothee. Reports say that he was seriously injured in the accident and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
From the photos, he appears to have been very badly injured. Here's hoping that he will recover and that the hit and run driver is arrested.

Coincidence. I drove over that bridge today and saw the bike, one of those death trap Vietnamese Wins.
For some reason it was still there, broken in half, with cones around it. No police about.

Vietnamese motos should be banned or at least a licence check. Fruitless I know.

Dont think the bike caused the accident. Anyone not wearing a helmet driving a moto is suicidal.
Hope they catch the fkers tho.

Very sad. We were so stupid back in the day. We didn't wear helmets.

Buy those helmets, friends.

I never wear a helmet here , it’s way too hot for them ..

That guy ( s ) would not have survived with a helmet anyway ..

It was time to go , they were in the wrong lane , wrong place , wrong time .

Easy to see they were wrong ..

Helmets here are junk , only in very few cases will it save your life ... I’d rather be cool 😎

The key is to understand the dangers of riding a motorbike in Cambodia. The roads are very dangerous.

There's only one danger in riding a motorbike in Cambodia - riding a motorbike.
