Cambodia News (Kampong Speu): On 5 April 2023, the General Commission of the National Police reported that a fatal accident occurred at 9:15am, when a machine crashed into a man who was working at a scrap warehouse in Stok Slat village, Phnom Touch commune, Oudong district, Kampong Speu province. The man was killed outright.

Immediately after receiving this information, the 117th Command Center contacted Colonel Khem Samon, Udong District Police Inspector, to investigate the scene and cerrtify that the death was accidental. When this was confirmed, authorities handed over the body to the family for a traditional funeral.

Could it be that the factory owner is attempting to cover up unsafe working conditions ?

Worker dies suddenly while at work in factory
A worker died immediately with unknown reason while working in a factory in Kampong Speu province.

This case caused a surprise among the workers in this factory on April 5, at Phnom Trapeang Lvea in Stock Slat village, Phnom Touch Commune, Oudong district, Kampong Speu.

According to the people in front of the factory, the victim was identified as Thorn Toth, a 29-year-old male, who lived in Oudong district. The reason of his death is not yet known but the victim’ head was said to be bleeding.

According to another source at the scene, the factory owner has already paid compensation to the relatives of the victims’ families to end the case and prevent it from being leaking to the authorities and the court.

Residents at the scene said that the cause of death workers was not known, even if relatives and authorities are prohibited from entering the factory, they think the man’s death was suspicious and the factory owner wants to hide the information.

The Kampong Speu province helping with the autopsy, lest there be any injustice. The body of the victim was taken by relatives for a traditional funeral ceremony.
