Violence Between Two Karaoke Singing Groups in Svay Rieng

Cambodia News, (Svay Rieng Province) : A man was seriously injured after singing karaoke in an adjoining room to another group who had a verbal dispute with them, which then erupted into violence. The victim was hit on the head with a belt, without any good reason, and then the suspects fled.

This incident happened at 2:50am on November 26, 2020 at the Chumnor Tracheak Chet Karaoke Club in Svay Toeur Village, Svay Toeur Sangkat, Svay Rieng City.

The victims are: 1. Yon Sokchea, 27 years old, factory worker, living in Prey Srok village, Pong Teuk commune, Romduol district, Svay Rieng province (head injury), sent to Provincial Referral Hospital.
2. Name: Pheap Phea, 23 years old, worker, harvester. Srov lives in Sampor village, Prey Toteung commune, Mesang district, Prey Veng province (no serious injuries);
3. Mon Nath, 21, a rice harvester worker, lives in Damnak Serey village, Kamchay Mear commune, Kamchay Mear district, Prey Veng province (no serious injuries).

The suspects have not yet been identified because after the incident, they fled the scene;however they left behind a black Honda C125 motorcycle with license plate number 1I-1301.

Immediately after receiving this information, the Municipal Gendarmerie Force, led by Lieutenant Colonel Sen Kosal, the City Commander, arrived at the karaoke spot, but the suspects escaped, leaving only their motorcycle behind. Police took the victim to Svay Rieng Provincial Referral Hospital and are searching for suspects in order to take legal action.

Those pictures suck. They are so bad that they had me feeling little empathy for the victim.

True that the victim looks like a gangster. Maybe they (he) don't deserve empathy. It's not clear who started the fight.

Anyway, I thought that all the karaoke joints were supposed to be closed to avoid covid spread. Or have they reopened recently, or did nobody actually give a shit and they just carried on as usual ?

I just thought the "pixelation" and paintbrush wipes looked shite, wasn't even getting into why one guy maybe looked down on another and next thing someone was sliced up.

Very bad singer ? I can understand (but don't defend) the use of violence in that case. The inventer of karaoke has a lot to answer for. :whip2:
