Vietnamese at Bokor, what must we do?

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

In term of the history context the same can be argued about many countries. The point I am trying to make is the happening in the presence, what is happening in your face right now i.e. things that affect me and others ! Like I said before, you are an apologist.

In term of gambling, Naga has the legal right to control their territory I am sure they can go beyond that. A friend put it best; if I were to born in Cambodia in the next life, I want to be born into the Hun family.

Answer me just one question. Name one crime Cambodia has committed to any foreign countries in the 20th or 21th century?

As much as you can say any passing regime = a country, the Khmer Rouge attacked many villages over the Vietnamese border, and they were the ruling regime of Cambodia at the time.

The land was stolen (Prey Nokor). Part of the angers raged during the KR regime. Whatever, nobody likes them. But if ask you the educated Khmer the Khmers in their late 40s and above they will openly admit that the rulers aka Kings are blinded to Vietnamese pussies.

Your knowledge of Cambodian history is staggering. I'm remembering why I dropped out of CEO.

I dont like to dwell from what happened in the past. I mostly based the happenings and my observations in the presence.

what 500 years of incursion and hegemony by the viets is not history?

that is rather staggering.

even in light of the colonial power that enabled it.

I was being real in my responses to the original poster. jbTRAIN perceptions are based from what he saw and read, yes it is still true? The country is still trapped and deteriorating.

This is what the Chinese communist wants to see, like North Korea and now the their current target is Cambodia.

More like 300+ but I've learned from previous go-rounds with FC and KI Media types that facts of history pale in significance to popular mythology. The Vietnamese pussy reference* is one and I'm sure Master's Tea would soon come up while actual historical events like the Treaty of Saigon,or Sihanouk's acceptance of maps ceding Koh Tral are unheard of by even most educated Khmers who are sure Kampuchea Krom was lost in 1949 or that Koh Tral is Khmer and soon to be rescued by some International Court Concerned With Cambodian Delusions.

*Vietnamese pussy was provided around 1621, probably in exchange for war elephants. There's no evidence of Viet settlement being tied to the provision of said pussy as it wasn't until the 1690s that Viets began occupation around Prey Nokor. But it makes a good story and reinforces Khmer stereotypes about devious Viets (and Viet women in particular) and always the victim Khmer.
