Updated price of making Cambodia passport

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Quite expensive for the average Cambodian. Those prices are in line with US passport prices. The US adds a $25 "acceptance fee" in addition to the $110 usual fee...and add another $60 for expedited service - but, 21 days IS the expedited time frame. Otherwise it takes 4-6 weeks.

Right, this way expensive. I really don't want to pay much money for that. I hate this fuck up and corrupted government.

I guess they did, but i am not sure how much they charged from those expelled laborers. If you are a scholarship student they will only charge you $30.

Ohh, I see. I remember it being under or around $30, but I didn't realize they were only charging that price for the laborers. That makes sense.

The new price is better than the old one, but still expensive if we compare to other countries in our region.
Most of Cambodians don't have passport for some reasons, expensive and can't afford or no have a chance to go abroad. When I need passport in hurry, I need to pay 300$ for the fastest one( a week).

Right, i was hoping that the price would go down to 50% or more than that, but it was completely disappointing. There is nothing different from 130 to 100 usd. Fucking Kingdom of wonder.

Went with the missus to the passport office about 5 weeks ago, I was surprised at how efficient the staff and the entire process was. There are dozens of fixers hanging around who will help you fill in the forms and point you in the right direction for a small fee, but there really is no need.

Go in get the forms, fill them out, provide photocopies of ID, Family Book or Carnet de residence and Birth certificate. Take all paperwork and follow the footseps along the floor, stopping at each section (biometrics, photo, payment, etc). Missus took the 4 week return option $100. Total time it took from entering to exiting the.compound was approximately 40 mins.

3 weeks.later she got a.phone call saying her passport was ready to collect. I'm impressed with the quality of the new style passports, hard plastic bio page, valid for 10 years and 60 pages for visas/stamps.

Well done to the Passport.department, one govt department that seems to have their shit sorted.
