Updated price of making Cambodia passport

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Still have to go to the passport office no matter what, even if you use an agent, all agents do is take you there, help fill out the forms and point you in the same direction as the yellow footprints.

All passport applicants have to submit biometrics and have their photo taken digitally via tthe immigration systems....fixers/agents cannot do this!

Thanks for the update.

I googled 'cambodia passport office' and it does say that they have moved but nothing about to where they have moved.

'Many people have been left confused because the passport office moved to a new location. Why did it move?
It moved in May from [central Phnom Penh] to Ta Ngov village [known as Prek Pra village in Meanchey district], located about 3 kilometres from Chbar Ampov Bridge in Phnom Penh. The move was necessary to avoid traffic jams and provide more space. The former office was only a temporary location.'

Hi. I'm a little confused about where to go in PP to buy my girlfriend a Cambodian passport and could use some help.

Thanks.
It's over the bridge in Chbar Ampouv, but not easy to find as its nowhere near the main road, have to folllow a rabbit warren of back streets. Ask a tuk tuk driver...if he doesn't know himself he will be able to find out easily enough....I'm not even going to attempt to try and give directions there sorry.
Thanks for your help. Sounds like another problem that can be solved with cash and a girlfriend who speaks Khmer...:) This country boy gets confused and angry real fast in the city, so knowing the general area first will help me get through this....thanks again.

Not correct. You can get a passport for somebody who isn't physically present, with pics and the appropriate documents.

I just did it for the wife, who's in Europe and can't leave pending the granting of her resident status. It costs an arm and a leg but it's doable.

i have always found using an agent ( for passports, visas) in Cambodia ( and anywhere that uses them) very helpful as it seems to ease things and its good for the economy as well.

I'm surprised you could get your wifes passport without her present, as they scan fingerprints, retina, take the passport picture digitally (they said they do not accept photographs from applicants as it is all electronic) and the applicant has to provide a digital signature. I guess this is why Cambodian passports are not issued overseas, only in Cambodia.

Just out of interest, how much of an arm and a leg, and did she have to submit her biometrics at a Cambodian Embassy abroad or something?

Even using an agent they will still take the applicant to the passport office.

I guess there is a price to have random biometrics used.
