Two Chinese Arrested with 73 Phones After Sihanoukville Resort Burglary
Sihanoukville: On December 26, 2018, at 9:30 am, the criminal police force cooperated with security guards from O Smach Casino Resort to arrest two Chinese nationals for allegedly stealing phones from the premises.
The suspects were identified as XIE Jixiang, a 24-year-old man and Li Xiaxiang, a 27-year-old male.
The police source said that on December 25, the two Chinese nationals traveled from Sihanoukville to O Smach to stay at Chai Nana Guesthouse. The men then went to visit the nearby O Smach Casino Resort, where they were able to enter the staff quarters at the end of a shift and steal a number of mobile phones. When questioned by a security guard, they said they had forgotten their room number.
The thieves hid their stash in a black rubbish bag and put it in a bin, left the premises, and came back for the loot the next morning. However, their behavior aroused the suspicions of a security guard, who detained the two men and discovered their bag of stolen goods, which contained 73 mobile phones. He immediately called the police.

What kind of staff quarters would have 73 phones lying around? I guess the employees aren't allowed to have phones on them during work hours, which is fair, but it's a shame if they just have to leave them lying around in unlocked places where their co-workers or others could steal them.davegorman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 8:27 pm 73 phones?!

https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50563871/t ... 73-phones/Major Choum Sopheak, a penal police officer with the provincial general crimes department, said that on Wednesday at about 12.30am, the two accused, who were gamblers, entered the casino to play games.
After they entered to the casino, they spotted the phones on display at an unattended booth and seized the opportunity to steal phones.
“While the vendor was in the bathroom, they entered the shop to loot 73 phones from it,” Maj Sopheak said. “After stealing 73 phones, they put them into black plastic bags and fled to stay at their guesthouse rooms in the commune.”
He noted that after returning from the bathroom, the vendor realised 73 phones were stolen and reviewed CCTV footage, which showed the perpetrators and was shared with local police.
