Tuktuk Drugs Scam Warning Reported on FB

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Tuktuk Drugs Scam Warning Reported on FB

Don't trust him! And please BOYCOTT his Tuk Tuk:

Name: Mister Sem Kim San, (called only San)

He pretend to be your friend, your really good friend, who would never do something bad to you. He promise you that, he tell you all the bad things he has done in the past, but to you, he will never ever do something like that. And you believe it because he is so nice, so friendly and he helps you everytime.
And than.. all changes. Suddenly he has big problems, he needs you now. He needs your Money and because your are such a good friend (and of course stupid enough to believe him) you gave him the money. And he promises to pay it back. And that is ok for you. But he never ever things to pay it back, instead he wants to get rid of of you. How?
Oh that is his masterplan:
He comes normally to your apartment and is like always. But his secret: He has Drugs in his pocket and the police in his neck. And surprise! The police comes out of the middle of nowhere and controll you and your Apartment. They find the drugs and San, who is such a good friend told them, that you sold them to him.
Jackpot! The police take you with them, not him, only you. They don't believe a foreigner even there is a wittness (also khmer) who say that San is lieing. And they find also no more drugs or something else in your apartment, doesn't matter. You end up in prison!! Maybe for 5 years

If you don't want to end like my boyfriend, who is now almost 6 month in prison, his hearing starts tomorrow and he can get up to 5 years, only because he wanted to help his „friend“ San with money, than never ever trust this person.

And please help: Boycott his Tuk Tuk (dark-blue car Tuk Tuk). He is bad and a lier. And he brings you trouble! And he don't deserve to earn a single dollar anymore!!

Do people actually let tuk Tuk drivers into their apartment to just chill and hangout?

Sounds like they were buying drugs from him and they got busted.

Actual, people do. Isn't that how Richard Barnett ended up killing the guy who sexually assaulted his stepdaughter?

So does this fall under your general rule of spending time with Khmer males or is there a specific subcategory for Tuk Tuk drivers?

Lone woman inviting strange man into her house, what could go wrong...

Funny how white women are so blindly naive just because the men here are exotic and brown. I'm sure she'd let taxi drivers into her house back home...

There are no subcategories. I just assume that all Khmer males are tuk tuk drivers.

Please read the OP before commenting. This is to do with her boyfriend. It is not clear whether she was even present when this happened. There are a few strange things about her post, but AFAIK none of them are to do with your sexual fantasies.

I am not sure why she is posting this now, 6 months after the "fake bust" allegedly occurred. There is a FB page in her name but she doesn't mention this, however I'm not a FBer so not sure if this is really odd or not. The FB page also says that she is married.
Anyway, she says :
If you don't want to end like my boyfriend, who is now almost 6 month in prison, his hearing starts tomorrow and he can get up to 5 years...
So there may be something somewhere in the Khmer news about a barang busted for drugs if he is on trial this week.
Update: The OP FB poster is posting on FB from Sihanoukville at the moment, so it would also be interesting to find out if this tuktuk guy is in PP or SV.
