Tuktuk Driver Dies, Hit by Container Truck in Phnom Penh

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A 48-year-old retired soldier, working as a tuktuk driver, lost his life after a container truck smashed into his tuktuk at 10:30 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021. The truck was leaving the new Teng Ley Dry Port, Victory Blvd., in Samrong Village, Sangkat Samrong Krom, Khan Por Sen Chey.

According to a source from the police, witnesses saw a container truck driving fast out of the new Teng Ley Depot to the Victory Monument Road, turning to the south, when the tail of the container truck hit the tuktuk, killing the driver on the spot. The driver of the container truck opened the door and ran away.

After the incident, the competent experts came down to examine the accident scene, and they took the car and motorbike to the police station to wait for a solution later. As for the body, the authorities made a note and handed it over to the family to take to the traditional ceremony.

I've seen this same wording in many stores over the last few months. I guess they believe that if they say it enough, it'll become true. Kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. But not.
