More importantly, does it have a toilet or does it stop often enough to take a leak? Can you sit on the roof drinking beers etc?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Wow Ducan you beat me on this. I can't wait to try it.

I thought it wouldn't hard to get the ticket. So today I went to the station to get a ticket for tomorrow, guess what tickets sold out from tomorrow until 15 April. So I booked the giant ibis instead, hopefully it will not really bad.

I went to the Snookyville station to buy a ticket from SKV to Kamport for Sat. The guy didn't speak English, but got across that Sat and Sun are canceled. With gestures and sign language I did get tickets from Snooky to Kampot and return for Fri the 15th. You would think they would hire someone that spoke a few words of English, you know English the language of business. It is run by an Australian company and even they speak a form of English.

I don't think that the company is longer running by the Australian company. First it was a joint venture between royal company and the Australia company, however couple months ago the Australia company sold all its shares to the royal group company. So now it is solely own by the Royal group company. I kinda understand why they don't invest in hiring qualified stuff because it is still being on trial and it is not sure if the service will be continuing after Khmer new year. I would be sad if I don't manage to try it as I really want to see view along the trail way especially the Sihanoukville part.

I was surprised to see so much of the coastline and forshore at Snooky that I never knew existed. The oil terminal, The power station, which looked much like the Marsden A that I worked on in 1966 - 68 and was recently dismantled and sold to ??? overseas . Then quite a lot of fences with no houses, a reminder of the Kep area. Samouth, I can guarantee you will enjoy the trip.
Other things I saw were, about 45 minuets south of Takeo a couple of large herds of goats . Maybe near 200 total.
About ??? 30 minuets after Kampot I saw the new abattoirs with a big sign '' Australian Beef ''
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.

I spoke to the CEO today, a qualified and experienced Australian guy.
They have massive interest from the tourism sector, and are considering most of the ideas elaborated here.
This is just trial run stuff now.

Money is not the problem, the problem is no money

Wonder why they would cancel the weekend train service if tickets were sold out in advance, indicating the demand is there?
Anyway, how was the ride? Is is smooth or wiggly? Steel rails tend to buckle and bend in the Cambodian heat.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I see a no smoking sign on the ticket, that's great, but no drinking? Vodka-injected oranges coming up
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right?
