Shit,i hope Kampot is exempt from tomorrows crackdown,as they have been full on here for over 2 months already. 3 to 4 different places in this little town at a time. Night time too. Cars and bikes.

Are you finding you can't talk your way out of it? You've been here a long time and the locals must know you well.krisduncs wrote:Shit,i hope Kampot is exempt from tomorrows crackdown,as they have been full on here for over 2 months already. 3 to 4 different places in this little town at a time. yeah when i was in Kampot the other week there were road blocks everywhere, luckily they were easy to avoid, but even the couple i did go through i never got bothered/hassled just waved through/ignored, same goes to the ones in SHVjuansweetpotato wrote:Are you finding you can't talk your way out of it? Of all the things to crack down on, I Would think speeding would be near the bottom of the list.

The crack-down is not doing so well here in Temple Town. The massive road block they had outside FCC the last few weeks has promptly been dismantled:-)

I was impressed how competent the cops are recently. Was driving home late last night, i recalled seeing at least couple check points in one single road. I guess this time they do it for real. No drink driving folks.

FOB backpackers are pretty recognizable. I can't imagine they'll be pulling over many white couples with matching parachute pants and dreadlocks to confiscate 10,000r of the 20,000r in their tie-dye tote bag and deny them a 2nd banana pancake.SinnSisamouth wrote:and how do you think a policeman will know , or care, what the difference is when he pulls them over?ot mien kampf wrote:It may not apply to the most obvious of tourists but I think any PP regular expat will be treated just the same.SinnSisamouth wrote:i doubt very much dat the law will apply to foreigners and they will have to transfer the licence or use a int driver permit or preferably stay off the feckin roads

I was fined for many times. The worst thing I never bring any document with me. My mistakes were turning the light on, rode the wrong direction without seeing the sign. i hate when they hide themselves and shocked me when they came out. i had to brake immediately. Moreover, when they fined me, they were so rude to me. if they just spoke simple way to me, yes i could give them more than they fined for drinking coffee because i know police traffice isnt an easy job. however, I still don't want to bring any document with me.
