Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Whatever, I never take tuk tuks, or at least haven't done in many years. But there are about 150 parked on my street and down the sides streets and main streets ( Orusey area). Those two looked like tourists, so I presumed they got him from either Lakeside, riverside, 51, 172, or Capital. I can assure you, every one of those tuk tuks knows where to go for anything you want, and if for some weird reason they don't, they just ask another tuk tuk driver. They generally all hang out together in huddles anyway.
In fact, isn't that one of the guys that hangs outside Pink Elephant? He looks kinda familiar.

I don't recognize him, but that bunch outside the pizza places and the scuzzball dealers are a pain in the ass. I think a lot of the drivers in that area are dickheads, but some I've known for many years and although I can imagine them being assholes to strangers they know me and know I won't put up with their shit so I'll get them to drive me home rather than random guys. Plus they know where I live and I don't have to give them directions. I've been using Passapp a bit recently and it's about a third of the price but I like the old drivers sometimes too.

That's definitely true for the guys who have been around the areas you mentioned for a few years, but not all of them have been around long and many others are trying to keep a clean nose. Procuring drugs/ women etc was a safe bet for drivers years ago, nowadays many are aware of the shit they could easily get into, especially when dealing with hapless tourists who talk too much.

I’m kinda confused. Article said something about beaten up for not finding a suitable ladyboy. So did mr. Tuk tuk just not find a ladyboy suitable enough for them? Or just got confused and not understand they wanted a ladyboy, not a girl or an ordinary gay man?

It's made it to the Daily Mail:

'I just want to see a ladyboy': Brit pays off driver after brawl

This is the humiliating moment two British tourists are forced to apologise after fighting with a tuk-tuk driver because he couldn't find them a ladyboy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The pair were riding around in the local's rickshaw for several hours while trying to find a transsexual prostitute in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

But the taxi driver said the pair became aggressive when their search was unsuccessful.

The British are winning the current stupid-looking tourists in the news competition.
There are so many that the Daily Mail has probably sent a journalist team out specially to cover British antics in Cambodia. I hope there will be a feature article on the difficulties of finding a ladyboy in PP these days.

The violence is inexcusable. Have their names been published anywhere?

Or could it just be people in general. Can you give me ANY supporting evidence that that was the real story? You must be exceptionally thick if you don't think that was all about the tuk tuk driver trying to overcharge them. I guess your need for titillation is somewhat greater than your need for facts or the truth.
Don't talk to me about violence when yet again a bunch of tuk tuk drivers and security beat another foreigner because he somehow minorly insulted them, this time it was to death though. Where's your moral outrage at that?

And, where is your supporting evidence that a foreigner was beaten to death?
