Touching Compared Picture of A Cambodian Girl

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Well you assumed wrong. If it makes you feel better about yourself thinking you have a monopoly on knowledge about poverty, go ahead.
Hopefully CEO news can post some back story.

I hope so too Mr. Bingham. In the interim tell me about your experience living among and with the poor of Cambodia. Also do you talk with them in Cambodian?

"f it makes you feel better about yourself thinking you have a monopoly on knowledge about poverty, go ahead."

I don't have a general knowledge of poverty, but I have a damn good understanding of how it works in our rural village and that knowledge is totally independent of how I feel about myself. I'm just tired of expats who parade stereotypes and have no real experience with Cambodians.

I have plenty of experience, but I'm not interested in getting into a pissing contest about it. Good luck.

""I have plenty of experience"
Like most PP denizens with other foreigners, bar girls and school admin. Looks good on a resume.

No - I was referring to personal experience of local poverty. That involves working in slums, at relocation sites, working with the disabled and living in an old stilt house next to a sewer canal for a few years with Cambodians. I still live in a fairly crappy area, but I'm not complaining. Not everyone lives in a bubble in BKK1 or Daun Penh.

Yeah, me too. You're pretty good with the stereotypes yourself. As above. You've obviously got some experience with Cambodians, but if you're living in some remote hamlet in Kampong Cham or wherever that's going to be a very limited experience. I'm sure you like it there, but don't delude yourself into thinking you're some kind of saint or that everyone wants to live in the middle of nowhere like you.

Oh really? And how is a man who lives "in some remote hamlet " stereotypical? You jumped to conclusions about the girl with the bag, not me. I
would suggest most strongly that you are not observant enough to judge anyone. How limited one's experience is depends on their ability to accurately evaluate it. Nothing about my life qualifies me for sainthood; I'm just a fellow primate who calls poseurs on their bullshit.

Oh, by the way, "That involves working in slums, at relocation sites, working with the disabled and living in an old stilt house next to a sewer canal for a few years with Cambodians. I still live in a fairly crappy area, " That qualifies as living in the middle of nowhere.

You have a bee in your bonnet. I'm not sure what your issue is, but don't involve me in it. Bye.

I don't have a bonnet and.I don't have a bee. I challenged your ludicrous assertions and assumptions which you were unable to cogently retort. Goodbye bee, now I return to my rural tranquillity.
