Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): A man died after falling from a condominium building under construction, at 1:30 pm on 4 May 2023, on Street 430, Sangkat Toul Tompong II, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh. People nearby rushed to help and called for an ambulance, but the victim of the fall was already dead. The unidentified victim was fair skinned and about 30 years old.

At the motorcycle repair shop nearby, the mechanic said he was repairing a motorcycle when he saw the victim fall into a tree branch in front of the condo which is under construction. He said he heard a crash, and rushed to perform first aid for the victim and called an ambulance to come to the rescue. Unfortunately it was too late to save him.

According to the condominium security guard, he was sleeping in a hammock in the ground floor of the condominium next to the entrance, when he was suddenly awoken by a crashing sound of something falling from the tree on to the ground. He looked up and saw the victim lying on the road, and the neighbors running to the rescue. The security guard said that there were no workers officially at the construction site, because the work there has been suspended for two days. And although he was working during the day shift, he said he had never seen the victim before and he did not know where he came from.
The incident was immediately reported to the authorities, who arrived to cordon off the area for forensic experts to examine the scene and the body. Investigations are still underway.
