Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Heng Muy Kea, the wife of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, Muth Dara, asked the police to charge her husband with domestic violence, following an incident which occurred at 8:30 pm on March 12, 2022 on Street 150 in Sangkat Toek Laak II, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.

According to the description of the wife, Heng Muy Kea, she told the media that before the incident, her husband had accused her of stealing a lot of money, but she denied this. Her husband then grabbed her by the hair and hit her, and then he pulled out a pistol and menaced her with it. She was very frightened and shouted for help, but when a servant came running, her husband grabbed the servant and locked her up.

Eventually, after some time, Heng Muy Kea was able to contact her parents for help, and they drove from Kampong Chhnang to Phnom Penh and asked the authorities to intervene immediately in this case of domestic violence. The parents say that this is not the first time that Muth Dara has hit and mistreated their daughter.


It is also said to be public knowledge that the Deputy Prosecutor is carrying on an open affair with a young university student.
Police say that they are waiting to question the husband, because so far, they have only heard the wife's version of events.
