Hammer Man Smashes Up Riverside Shrine
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On November 25, 2020, at 2:30 pm, a man smashed a statue in Preah Ang Dorngkeu Shrine, in front of the Royal palace, Preah Sisovath road, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
The suspect, Lou Kimsou, a 27-year-old man, went to the Preah Ang Dorngkeu shrine, and he did the sampeah (wai) through the window. Then, he climbed on the window to go inside, and he started to damage the statue, hitting it with a hammer.
Suddenly, a man named Has Soeun, a worker, saw what the suspect was doing, so he shouted for help. Some people came running, and together they restrained the suspect and grabbed his hammer.
He was taken to Chey Chumneas police station for questioning. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
