Re: Golden Meltdown in Jewelry Shop Fire
Is it possible for gold to just melt away? Or burn?
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Golden Meltdown in Jewelry Shop Fire
A quick search found this JB.
“ It's very much possible, though it requires extremely high temperatures. ... Iron melts at 1538 °C and turns into a gas at 2862 °C. Gold is somewhat similiar, melting at 1064 °C and boiling at 2856 °C.”

It will have sunk somewhere to the bottom of that gunk, and at somewhere north of $1600 in value he'll make sure to recover most of it.
The real loss in value would most likely be from worked gold jewellery into basic gold, assuming it wasn't just in nuggets anyway. A basic ring (think wedding ring) is only going to be 2-3g and valued around 100-200.

I was imagining the high pressure from the fire hoses would have washed the gold down the sewer system .
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
