Three Foreigners Arrested for Bashing German Outside Siem Reap Bar
Siem Reap:Three foreigners were detained and sent to the Provincial Court of First Instance in Siem Reap for violent behavior in front of Swan Bar & Restaurant Svay Dangkum Village, in Siem Reap Town, on 27 December 2018, shortly after midnight.
Police officials said the suspects are:
1. Serbian STRAHIH JADACKOVIC Male, born 1985.
2- Indian JAIYESH FAUJDAR Male, born 1984, a hotel manager
3- Slovakian MARKO VITOROVIC Male, born 1989.
The three men reportedly got into a drunken argument with a German national and assaulted him outside the bar. The victim has been identified as MARIO MAEHL MEYER, a German aged 42, and he received medical treatment for a face wound, including some broken teeth, and a broken leg.
The three suspects are being detained by Siem Reap police awaiting trial.

Obviously the bar for becoming a hotel manager has been lowered considerably since I went to Swiss hotel school back in the day.

It seems Perp #2 runs The 84 Hotel in Siem Reap:

The victim is not a tourist, he is Mario Maehlmeyer, founder of Centurion Consulting in Siem Reap, providing business consulting and skills training.
Why in the world would a Serb, a Slovak, and an Indian gang up to break his leg?

They were either fighting over the last ladyboy in the bar or the dregs of a warm 50 cent angkor beer.
Probly both.
Probly both.

It might be connected to his business interests. Mr Maehlmeyer's company, Centurion Consulting Cambodia, looks to have been set up as recently as 2018. There is little traffic on the company Facebook page, where they have a total of 14 Likes and 13 Followers.

Looks like the German guy got a glass shoved in his mouth. That's mean fighting that you wouldn't expect from a Siem Reap hotel manager and his friends.
Nice crowd hanging out in SR these days. Just saying that because I'm in Sihanoukville.
Re: Three Foreigners Arrested for Bashing German Outside Siem Reap Bar
The German guy got glassed and had his leg broken and you're offering rank speculation that it's because he's a scammer? Christ. That's mean. His business Facebook page doesn't have a lot of likes, so what. Maybe he's a failed businessman. That's not a reason to glass a guy.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 8:12 pm Mr Maehlmeyer's company, Centurion Consulting Cambodia, looks to have been set up as recently as 2018. The name of the company is also similar enough to be confused with several other business consulting companies. Again, this is not a crime, but this is a common ploy by scammers: In order to confuse potential clients, they set up a company with a name that resembles another existing company - in this case, there are several consulting companies with similar names to Centurion Consulting Cambodia.
Intellectual property laws in Western countries prevent people from opening businesses with confusing names. They also prevent businesses from copying the content of other businesses without attribution and passing it off as their own. I don't know if you mean to lump all such businesses under the "scammy" label.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 8:12 pmthis is a common ploy by scammers: In order to confuse potential clients, they set up a company with a name that resembles another existing company
