Three Dead, Seven Injured in Tour Bus Crash as Driver Flees

Three people were killed and seven injured in Kompong Cham province on Thursday morning when a truck carrying sand collided with a tour bus.

The crash occurred on National Road 6 in Choeung Prey district’s Sdoeung Chey commune at 4:30 a.m., when the truck swerved into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into the Gold VIP Transport Service bus, which was traveling from Siem Reap City to Phnom Penh, said commune police chief Lanh Leang.

Deja vu ? Thought I'd seen this article before, but no, it's same same but different. Even if you travel with a good minivan company you really can't tell when some truck driver might just go to sleep and plow into you. RIP.

The accident took place at 4:30am - bad time to be on the roads. Also,I can't help wondering which seats the dead passengers had ?

Slightly different version in the PPP: the bus driver was seriously injured, and so presumably did not flee.

At least three people were killed and seven were seriously injured after a head-on collision between a truck and a bus on National Road 6 in Kampong Cham’s Cheung Prey district yesterday morning.

Kampong Cham provincial police chief Ben Roth said truck driver Lem Fa, 32, and bus passengers Bun Dany, 36, and Ath Khorn, 59, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver and six passengers sustained serious injuries.

“Based on a technical inspection and measurements done at the site, the truck, which was carrying sand, caused the accident, because it drove into the bus’s lane and collided with it,” Roth said...
