Thief Arrested for snatching a bag with pistol and 15 bullets
Phnom Penh: A 29 year old Cambodian man, Lim Sokea, was arrested for snatching a bag which contained a gun at 9:15 pm, on May 6 2018, on Preah Monyvong boulevard, on street 144, Sangkat Beungrang, Phnom Penh. The 46 year old victim was identified as Ek Roth, Head of Finance and Administration Department of Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
After the snatch and grab, the victim went to Beungrang Police station to file a complaint and he told the police that the stolen bag contained a pistol gun with 15 bullets, gasoline receipt, 2 Cambodian ID card and some money.
At 2 am, on May 7, the polices found the suspect at a gas station in Chroy Chongvar area, where they arrested him and confiscated the bag and the gun, which were then returned to the victim.

why wld a Head of Finance and Administration Department of Ministry of Public Works and Transport needs a gun is beyond me, and is that a glock? not a police standard issue i suppose

i believe only military personnel above certain ranks are issued a sidearm, anyone below that rank has to "apply" for a sidearm permit, correct me if i am wrong, and ministry of public works and transport deffo dont fall under military or police category, just that he is high rank enuff in civil department that it is easy for him to "obtain" a permit to carry sidearm, my point being that he still do not need to carry sidearm but it is easy for him to obtain one, my original question is a rhetorical one btwtonetone420 wrote: ↑Fri May 11, 2018 3:48 pmAs a government official he has more rights than little people, dontcha know?
