Battambang: On April 9 at 5 pm, a woman fortuneteller , identified as Kang Leang called Tang Kim, 37 year old, was arrested for black magic scamming money for 167,000 baht equal $ 5,300 USD, in Oukandal village, Sompovlun District, Battambang. The victim who was scammed is Hoy Nat, 51 years old.

The victim said that she had pain all over her body so she made a consultation with the fortuneteller to check on her condition. Suddenly, the fortuneteller told her that she had a lot of black magic inside her body, and that if she wanted to get rid of it, ( first surprise), she would have to pay a large amount of money to make it go away.

The victim believed her, and she was scared about the black magic so she decided to give the money to the fortuneteller. The first time she put the money for 17,000 baht for praying. Then the fortuneteller told her to give 150,000 more to take all black magic from her body and finish the ceremony.
However, (second surprise), after giving her the money, the victim didn't feel at all better and her body was still painful. So then the victim went to the fortuneteller to ask for the money back.
After that, the fortuneteller wrote her a cheque for 30,000 USD and gave it to the victim to get the money from the bank. But, (third surprise), when the victim got to the bank, the bank teller told her that it was a fake cheque.
So then, the victim filed a complaint against the fortuneteller, who was arrested and taken to the police station, where she was charged with fraud. (Possible fourth surprise.)
