And that vid with what they're proposing to do with these what (up to 40 storey?) ugly chinese looking towers that are so close together you could nearly shake hands with your neighbour in the next tower...not to mention the view blocking and shadow effects of such monstrosities. On another thread there were pics of ugly tower developments behind Otres (not shown in vid) that look just like those things near PP airport.

Seems to me all the natural fundamentals were there, nice extended and multiple beaches, islands off the coast, a deep port and what happened?

multiple casino licences that tried to emulate a mini Macau
all the crime associated with gambling
hence predominance of chinese tourists
chinese businesses catering exclusively for chinese
hence westerners avoiding the place
locals forced out unless working on the 'dirty, low end' jobs
others have made a quick buck at the expense of others
non local khmers avoiding it as a holiday place
the sewerage in the sea and the rubbish
lack of appropriate building safety standards
the flooding and drainage issues

It could've been so much more for an international, cosmopolitan beach resort city.. I fear it's too late to fix it all up.

I see a range of apartments for sale, such, with different price range, starting from $39.600 for the Sea View apartments. Are any of these new apartment blocks finished and selling? But alas, it is a disappointment about the pollution, not much fun strolling down the beach, the sea would be out of bounds just has it would be shark infested but this time with floating terds, but no worries if the pipes are placed well out to sea, then only the islands will be effected.
