The latest lunacy

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

The latest lunacy

Post by vladimir »

Apparently there is a rumour doing the rounds on Khmer facebook that the ACU has said that high school students who cheat in the national exam will be jailed.

Has anybody else heard this twaddle?

Surely, even in Cambodia, no one could be so duh?

Looney tunes, really.

Looks like they're following the Indian example:

Hundreds of people were arrested and police fired warning shots in the air as Indian authorities sought to clamp down on mass cheating in school exams. Authorities in the state of Bihar posted police at all schools where exams were being held over the weekend. At least 300 people were arrested and up to 700 students in total have been expelled for cheating. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 25509.html

Excellent, very interesting. Just look at those loved ones handing over the cheat sheets to their kids.

Only in India would it be so brazen I think.
They get a big white board marker across the front of their papers if I catch them. An old teacher here showed me the trick.
"Can you spare some cutter for an old man?"
