The Dog Meat Conundrum
Re: The Dog Meat Conundrum
I was in the province once and woke up to a peculiar smell, nothing I was used to. I got up and walked out and it was my gf's niece cooking some meat. She told me it was dog and my nose curled. I didn't like the smell. She offered me a piece but just putting it to my tongue the taste was enough to throw it away.wackyjacky wrote:Totally agree. Protein is protein and we can't all afford Black Angus.
Then another Singaporean guy told me I had to go to China to get really good dog meat, he said that what he had in Cambodia was shit.
I don't care but my caveat is that the dogs they typically ill or otherwise suspect in the quality. Plus the taste was so... unique, I didn't care for it.

I would really, really love to have a Vietnamese friend that knows how to cook dog.
I would invite him around to my house at 3 am in the morning for a beer,,,,, when all the dogs in our street are barking.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.

I believe dog costs more than beef. I've taken a bite on two seperate occasions and I definitely don't like it, just tastes weird to me.

I think you're supposed to cook it first.iluvu wrote:I believe dog costs more than beef. I've taken a bite on two seperate occasions and I definitely don't like it, just tastes weird to me.

It is, at least the normal stuff. Usually from sick or old dogs. It's probably high for the black angus equivalent, which what would that be?Samouth wrote:I think dog meat is cheaper than beef.iluvu wrote:I believe dog costs more than beef.
