They all seem to be trying not to laugh in their mugshots.
I've seen these evil card playing people, sitting round in circles, passing cards to each other, bang! out comes about 75 cents.

Bane on, what is otherwise, perfection.

Vigilante group needed. I'm thinking of infiltrating group in getting some information on where they get their cards.

Rumour has it, there's an Indian man involved in some sneaky snooky cheating.

The players were all rounded up and sent to the police station for re-education. They have signed a paper to say that they will give up gambling.

Why don't they say "We was just playin' cards, to pass the time"? :chin:
(id est: no money involved).
In their own home, that can't be illegal, innit..

Surely there are more pressing matters to attend to than people betting petty sums when there is meth everywhere.

From the reports on CEO, I think these people that are being busted for playing cards and gambling are being reported by their neighbors. Cockfights too. I'm guessing here, but I'd say that these neighbors are upset because all this illegal gambling attracts lowlifes and crime into their village or neighborhood.

That said, everyone likes to gamble for fun in Cambodia, and the busts on card games do seem a bit ridiculous.

That chick is kinda hot. Maybe neighbours were annoyed at the noise, or feared the spread of the Wuflu. Kinda ridiculous to show up with Type 56s to break up a game of Klah Klo. Were the stakes super high or something? Taking away from Naga's profits...?

.
AK-47's and fucking riot gear to take down a backyard neighborly card game?

Is that really a prudent allocation of government resources? Surely a pot bellied boy in blue with a few stripes on his shoulder and a lackey or two could have made quick work of these hardened criminals. No?

This was just a warning so they didn't confiscate the house. In fairness, gambling is one of the worst addictions; it is very hard on the head. When I was in that space, I would bounce in like a spring lamb, sit down like a buffalo "let's do this!". And either leave a) an exhausted winner thinking "thank fuck for that" or, b) feeling like I had just been beaten up...until I got home and grabbed some more cash. Then I was "strong like bull" again. A "bad beat" on an all-in was my last bet. I still gamble with my life on motos and crossing the road.
