Bonteay Meanchey: The Department of Anti-Drug and Bonteay Meanchey authorities arrested 3 Thai nationals, 2 men and 1 woman, for drug trafficking in a casino at 8 pm on May 14, Kbal Spean village, Sangkat Piopet, Bonteay Meanchey. The suspects who were arrested have been identified as Soriyan Pachalangkhun, 48 year old man, Vimotiya Phasok called Fa, 37 year old woman, and Wa Chilakveth, 22 year old man.

The police confiscated ICE drug (3 small packs and 2 big packs), 2 packs of Ya Ma drug, a set of scales, and a bottle for using drugs. The suspects confessed that they have been selling drugs in Poipet casinos for the past two months. They changed rooms and casinos quite often, so they could sell drugs wherever they went.


After obtaining a confession from the suspects, the police are preparing the case to submit to court.

Three Thais have been arrested over possession and distribution of an illegal substance in Banteay Meanchey, Poipet Town Military Police Commander Nuon Ninaro said on Tuesday. On Monday evening, the authorities raided the Poipet Casino Resort in the province’s Kbal Spean I village, arresting three Thais and seizing 120 grams of methamphetamine, scales and drug paraphernalia.

Ninaro named the the arrested suspects as Soriyan Panchhalangkun, 48, from Chachoengsao province; Vimuthiya Phasok, 37, from Amnat Charoen province; and Wak Chhilakvit, 22, from Bangkok.

“They were arrested for drug distribution and consumption in a room above the casino. Currently, they are being detained and interrogated at the Poipet Town Military Police base,” he confirmed.

In Cambodia, methamphetamine consumption and distribution is said to occur almost everywhere, initially being brought in from the Golden Triangle (Thailand, Myanmar and Laos) by drug gangs.
