Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia Breaking News (Siem Reap): On July 11, 2019, the Siem Reap Department of Immigration detained a 42-year-old Swedish man,LARS ERIK PERSSON , for having no passport and no place to stay.
The Swedish man has one of his feet bound up in a plastic bag which probably indicates that he has sores or ulcers on his foot and is therefore in need of medical attention.
He has been sent to the Siem Reap immigration office to have his case reviewed following the legal procedure.

Yeah, it's a pretty good indication that someone is fucked up and malnourished or sick and needs to get their shit together. Speaking from experience here. 8-)

How do they know there’s not a shoe (Sandal) under the bag?

His lower left leg looks twice the size of his right. I doubt it is because of any hard work in the gym. I think the plastic bag is there for a reason and we do not want to see it.

Have noticed a down and out looking barang hanging around at my local pagoda lately. It's only a matter of time before he appears in one of these articles.

Also got approached by the thin French speaking guy who asks (in English) if you speak French, then tells you he lost his passport and wallet and the Embassy won't help him etc etc... as this was the fourth time he's approached me in a year I said "don't tell me yu lost your passport again" at which he said "excuse me" twice as he hurried away. He's usually around Streets 51/63/Orussey area.

Been around for well over a year, either he keeps losing his passport or he needs a new story
