Cambodia News, (Battambang): According to the National Police General Commission, on January 17, 2021 at 5:20 p.m, Bavel District Police Inspectorate arrested a suspect for raping a minor (under 15 years old) in the bathroom of Boeung Samrong pagoda.

The suspect was arrested on the basis of a complaint from Luy Pei, a 41-year-old man living in Lvea village, Bavel district, that a case of sexual intercourse with a minor (under 15 years old) had occurred on January 5, 2021 at 10:00am in the bathroom of Boeung Samrong pagoda in Lvea commune, Bor Vel district, Battambang province.

After receiving the complaint, the Battambang police forces arrested one suspect, Vun Veth, a 21-year-old male (staying at Boeung Samrong pagoda) in Boeng Samrong village, Lvea commune, Bavel district, Battambang province.
The suspect is currently being investigated by the district police and has been sent to the provincial specialized office to follow the procedure.
