BSCW posted his own personal data, to include multiple passports, in his thread, so he outed himself long before his current troubles.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 8:11 pmGood point, High Commissioner
Mish got outed because he had posted his photograph here - and you couldn't deny the crime scene photo's were him.
So, in effect, he outed himself. Everybody has the right to choose that to whatever degree they want.
But does the anonymity stop as soon as the cuffs are slapped on any member, regardless?
My personal vote - No. < usually
Anonymity should be almost sacred.
However, if the guy has declared war on your biz and threatened your family, repeatedly. I would probably both call the cops - and out the bloke.
There are definite limits - even calling the cops is sometimes on.
Bullies and thugs rely on codes of silence being inappropriately applied - and they don't deserve them.

No, doxxing people shouldn't be allowed, and it isn't, per forum rules. Outing yourself is a different matter.
up to you...

Rules are for breaking, forum rules are not laws and whoever is in control decides.

Remember the recent announcement that an FBI office is going to open in Phnom Penh. It has always been here inside the Embassy. And they are reading CEO everyday. And the Cambodian internet gateway monitors are watching. Just saying. You will not remain anonymous to them for long. So he puts his threats out there in the open and now has to accept the consequences. Stupid is as stupid does.

It wasn't just the insane ramblings he posted on forums though, apparently he was emailing the staff at the embassy with direct threats.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Americans living abroad would file form 2555. If they meet the residency requirements, the easiest one to meet is if they work permanently or indefinitely outside of the USA, they do not pay tax on the first $105,900.Clemen wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 8:05 pmYes, all citizens were eligible, whether resident or not. u.s. citizens pay federal tax on all income generated abroad( with small exceptions).timmydownawell wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 7:40 pm Did the US really send stimulus cheques to people who don't even live in the US? Isn't the idea to stimulate your own economy?
We're getting way OT here, but americans abroad get proper fucked (as Snatch would put it) on taxes from foreign earnings.
So you would need a wage exceeding that annually to start paying taxes, those making $106K plus are perhaps bothered but not sure about "proper fucked" level.
Maximum foreign earned income exclusion. Enter $105,900

I suspect he was bipolar or something. He definitely suffered from some sort of mental disability (maybe his lawyers can work that angle).Skankykins wrote:Haha. Jesus! I though the guy was, like, twelve.
