Starbucks is Finally Coming to the Kingdom of Cambodia!

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Starbucks headed for Kingdom

Starbucks is coming to Cambodia.

The US-based coffee giant will open its first outlet at Phnom Penh International Airport by the end of this year, with plans to open a second store in the city centre by the end of 2016, according to a statement on its website on Thursday.

“Cambodia is a vibrant country with a rich cultural heritage, and we are proud to bring the unparalleled Starbucks Experience to this market,” John Culver, group president, China/Asia Pacific, Channel Development and Emerging Brands, Starbucks Coffee Company, is quoted as saying in the statement.

I like Brown, but it'll be nice to be able to get a cup of coffee rather than an 'Americano'.

Starbucks has always been my favorite. Not sure if it's the best though, but it took me 2 years to learn their menu. Can't go through learning a new menu each time.

Cambodians will finely know what their t-shirts are all about.

I predict exactly the opposite. I think they'll be packed, just like they are in Thailand, with people who want to see and be seen drinking expensive coffee. I think they'll be wildly popular.

The country doesnt even have a fucking MRI machine cause of the sheer lazy greed. It will fall through once Starbucks executives get a whiff of whats its like to deal with Khmer.
