Drunk soldiers hit woman in shooting contest
Bullet from drunk soldiers hits woman
7 May 2018
Captain Chhun Chhoeun, chief of staff for Toek Chhou district police, said that on Saturday a group of ten soldiers in four cars drove to a mango farm belonging to one of the men at the foot of a hill in Trapaing Pring commune.
Cap Chhoeun said that they were drinking heavily at about 6pm.
“While they were drunk, they all started firing at the foot of the hill to show who was the best shooter,” he said. “Each soldier was given two to four bullets to fire.”
He said that the ten soldiers managed to fire a total of 48 shots, including 37 from a pistol and one bullet from an automatic rifle.
The competition led to a stray bullet injuring Sam Ounh, 48, who was hit by a bullet on her left heel.
She has since been hospitalised at the provincial referral hospital where she is recovering.
Cap Chhoeun said that the soldiers fled the scene shortly after the woman got hit by the bullet.

Scared of a woman that did not even have a gun. ,,,,,,,, Promote them all with a extra star.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

So far, one man is being held in custody for the shooting episode in Kampot province. He is identified as Prey Manh, 36, a resident of Chamroeun Phal Commune, Boeng Tap Commune, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh. The other gunslingers have yet to be found, and police continue to investigate.
Fortunately, the victim, a 48-year-old village woman named Sam Ouuk, was not badly injured.
48 shells of several types were collected from the scene of the shooting contest.

Who won the contest? This guy?
Did he get those classy shoes as the prize? Hopefully, he'll be trading them in for much cooler Crocs soon.

Presumably her hut is on the hill, or was this a misfire out the side of the property?

The suspect has a different name here, but it is reported elsewhere that he is the owner of the mango farm, so he would have been easy to trace.

Major Sok Vichetr, a provincail military police officer, identified the accused as Lay Pesith, a 37-year-old soldier and bodyguard working with a private company in Phnom Penh.
Maj Vichetr said the accused was arrested on Sunday at about 8:30am over the shooting that took place on Saturday.
It was indeed a ricochet.that genius wrote: ↑Tue May 08, 2018 12:05 pm Bad ju-ju magic, bullets + countryside trees = ghostly ricochets
