Phnom Penh Skytrain in the pipeline...

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

 Um that's an abortion of an idea. Put the station a couple of blocks east.

That artist's conception isn't remotely realistic. It doesn't show motodops pissing on the station walls.

I've got a better idea; ban all cars from the inner city. Electric tuktuks and delivery vehicles and pedestrian and bicycle only streets.

A
More logical step would be to follow Bangkok’s lead and ban trucks from the inner city during day time. That would free up a lot of the roads as well as stop the daft concrete truck drivers from lining the side of the road causing a clusterfuck during rush hours.

Feasibility Study for Phnom Penh’s First Sky Train Under Way

Royal Government of Cambodia is undergoing a study for the construction of Phnom Penh capital's first sky train, according to Senior Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol.

The senior minister and minister of public works and transport shared the update with reporters here in Phnom Penh on June 5 after the signing ceremony of Cost Sharing Agreement between UNDP and Grab on Sustainable Urban Mobility for All Initiative SUMAI.

The study financed by Japan would be completed this year or next year, and the construction will follow, he added.

The first city sky train will run along an 18-kilometre route between downtown Phnom Penh to Phnom Penh International Airport.
