Six Chinese Suspects Released After Extortion Accusation

Pailin province, Cambodia News: Six Chinese nationals were detained for more than 10 hours by the military police on the night of November 18, 2018 . The six men, who work at the Diamond Casino, located at the border between Cambodia and Thailand at Phsar Prum village, Pailin province, were accused of holding Chinese nationals over a $100,000 debt.
However, the suspects were released after questioning, as the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie of Pailin said that no complaint had been made against them. Tin Sopheakdey, the prosecutor of the Pailin court, said he did not learn about the case until after the military police had released the suspects.

i can hardly believe this. it is so amazingly uncharacteristic of PRC citizens now gifting the kingdom with their presence in nearly every province

Indeed. Some of that $100k must have been donated to the Pailin Gendarmarie Widows and Orphans Fund.

I am shocked and appalled that anyone would even consider that any Chinese national would misbehave in this way and also that anyone would slander their credibility by suggesting that they would be so crass as to offer a monetary donation to and Khmer person or entity.

To make matters worse this previous post intimated that a local person/persons or organisation would even dream on accepting any money if it were offered, which it would not.
