Silencing critics with lawsuits.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

What does 'a lot' mean? 2? 3?
Late Obama administration introduced that strategy after it became more and more difficult to sell one war after another to the general public. Look up the "requests" made, it just has a better learning effect, as in retaining the info.

BREAKING NEWS: Cambodian Analyst Kim Sok Released
17/08/18 23:11
Phnom Penh (FN), August 17 - Cambodian political analyst Kim Sok was released on Friday morning, senior court official told Fresh News earlier.

Kim Sok was detained by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court at Prey Sar prison, not too far from the Killing Fields. On March 2017, he was charged of accusing the ruling party as the man behind the murder of Cambodian political commentator Kem Ley, who was shot dead on July 10, 2016 at a convenience store in Phnom Penh.

Kim was charged of incitement and defamation according to article 494, 495 and 305 of Criminal Law. In addition to serving his prison term, Kim also had to compensate $200,000 to the plaintiff and $2,000 to the state, following a lawsuit by Ky Tech, premier’s lawyer.
