Sihanoukville shrimps found soaking in formaldehyde
Sihanouk Ville:
On 15 August 2017, Food Safety and Quality Control experts conducted a quality control experiment at a shellfish market and found 13 kilograms of spoiled prawns and shrimps dumped in the water full of the lethal chemical which is normally used to preserve corpses.
The police officers detained the harmful shellfish and warned the sellers for the first time. The mission was completed by the police destroying the inedible shrimps and prawns in a fire.

This is great news that the authorities may be competent after all. But didn't this happen about 12 months back with seafood in SHV market?

They warned the sellers? Who knowingly used toxic fluid to soak shrimps in and sell to people. What do they have to do to get arrested? Wear black clothes?

I'm thinking that some big shot was up the chain from this and to minimize losses and make the authorities look good called up up with his weeks losses for a photo op. I seriously doubt any local would buy that shit the color is was.
to get arrested? start a fight with the seller whose uncle is a cop?

They even put formaldehyde in the beer in Australia.
I like it in shots and use the beer for a chaser.

Proof please. As far as I know, only beers from China have been known to have formaldehyde added. Traces in other beers were believed to come from the natural fermentation process.saigonjackpot wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2017 5:37 pm They even put formaldehyde in the beer in Australia.

Formaldehyde can't hurt you though. They use it in medicine all the time.
